Jordan and Qatar Leaders Call for Political Resolutions to Regional Crises

Amman: King of Jordan Abdullah II and visiting Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, have agreed on the necessity of political solutions to address the crises affecting their region.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Royal Jordanian Diwan released a statement highlighting that the discussions between the two leaders emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to support Palestinians in securing their rights. The talks also included measures to aid Syria and Lebanon in enhancing their security, stability, and unity. Additionally, they explored ways to strengthen bilateral ties.

The statement further disclosed that the latest regional developments were discussed, with King Abdullah firmly condemning the Israeli occupation's attack on Doha. The Jordanian Monarch emphasized the urgency of establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. This could be achieved by halting the Israeli occupation's ground operations aimed at displacing Palestinians from their lands.

King Abdullah also underscored the importance of backing Qatari, Egyptian, and US efforts to execute a hostage exchange deal following the cessation of aggression on the Gaza Strip and violations against holy sites in Jerusalem. Sheikh Tamim expressed gratitude for the Jordanian Monarch's support against the Israeli occupation's aggression towards Qatar.
