Jeddah Summit raises hopes for joint Arab action mechanism

The 32nd session of the Arab Summit will kick off on Friday in the Saudi city of Jeddah, amid hopes to establish a new mechanism for joint Arab action, in the presence of Arab leaders, including Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, after an absence from Arab summits for about 12 years.

The Jeddah summit will touch on a number of important files, including the Palestinian cause, the ongoing Sudanese conflict, the Libyan issue as well as relations with neighboring countries, including Iran and Turkiye.

The gathering will also discuss several other significant issues, including economy, development, water security, food security, counterterrorism, security, stability and prosperity, as well as development in Arab countries.
