Al Asimah: Kuwaiti entrepreneurs and business-minded individuals are welcomed to invest and start their businesses in Japan, as announced by Japanese Ambassador to Kuwait Mukai Kenichiro. According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Mukai made these remarks ahead of the "Japan - Kuwait Business Diwaniya," highlighting that this is an opportune moment for Kuwaiti entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities in Japan, particularly through foreign visa schemes available in cities like Fukuoka. He noted the positive reception of Kuwaiti cuisine at the ongoing Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, which could inspire Kuwaiti entrepreneurs to consider starting ventures in Japan, not limited to cuisine but extending to other cultural sectors as well. The Ambassador emphasized the growing business and trade relations between Kuwait and Japan, underscoring Kuwait's importance in Japan's economic security due to its crude oil supply. He encouraged Kuwaiti companies to explore investment opportunities in Japan, especially in the technology sector, which could contribute to Kuwait's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Mukai also mentioned the potential revival of the "Japan-Kuwait Business Committee" through the Diwaniya. Mukai acknowledged the contributions of leading Japanese companies like Mitsubishi, Toshiba, and JERA in implementing key infrastructure projects in Kuwait, such as the Al-Subiya, Al-Zour, and Doha power plants. He expressed Japan's commitment to working with Kuwait on a bilateral agreement for unique culinary collaborations. Al-Sayer Group CEO, Mubarak Al-Sayer, highlighted his company's role in bridging Japan and Kuwait through substantial imports of Japanese goods. He called for increased support from the Japanese government to enhance cooperation in trade, education, industry, and healthcare. Al-Sayer also pointed out the potential benefits of Japan's expertise in addressing environmental and urban challenges in Kuwait through technological collaboration, advocating for a sustainable future for both nations. Furthermore, Al-Sayer urged the Japanese government to consider implementing visa-on-arrival policies for Kuwaiti citizens to facilitate and strengthen bilateral relations.
