Tokyo: Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud agreed on Tuesday to further enhance bilateral cooperation between the two nations, as reported by Japan's Foreign Ministry. According to Kuwait News Agency, Ishiba expressed a desire to deepen the strategic partnership between Japan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in anticipation of the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations next year. During their 15-minute telephone conversation, Ishiba emphasized Japan's commitment to collaborating closely with Saudi Arabia for peace and stability in both the region and the international community. Crown Prince Salman responded by highlighting the importance Saudi Arabia places on its relationship with Japan and expressed his willingness to work collaboratively with Ishiba. Ishiba also expressed optimism about Saudi Arabia's continued leadership in stabilizing the global oil market. He noted the expanding relations between the c ountries beyond the energy sector, mentioning areas such as clean energy, advanced technology, and entertainment. Crown Prince Salman echoed the sentiment, expressing a desire to further cooperation in various fields, including politics, economics, and security. Both leaders voiced their concern about the ongoing exchange of attacks in the Middle East and emphasized the necessity for all parties to exercise maximum restraint. They agreed to continue their collaboration for the stability of the Middle East, particularly regarding the situation in Gaza, with Ishiba expressing appreciation for Saudi Arabia's leadership in the region.
