Istanbul: Seven Arab and Muslim countries met in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Monday to discuss Gaza ceasefire and humanitarian aid delivery. Addressing the just-concluded "Gaza Meeting", Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that the gathering brought together the foreign ministers or representatives of Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Jordan, Pakistan, and Indonesia to tackle regional security, stability, and peace.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the conferees had vowed to do their utmost to prevent the recurrence of genocide in Gaza. However, Fidan criticized the Israeli occupation's continued violations of the Gaza ceasefire and failure to commit itself to allowing humanitarian aid into the enclave. He noted that more than 200 Palestinians have been killed since the Gaza ceasefire agreement was announced.
Fidan also stressed the significance of international cooperation in Gaza reconstruction efforts, emphasizing that Gaza should recover in order to ensure the security of Palestinians there.
