Israeli warplanes attack Syrian airport

Israeli warplanes fired a salvo of air-to-surface missiles early on Wednesday targeting Aleppo International Airport, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

The warplanes roaring over the Mediterranean, west of the coastal city Latakia, unleashed the missiles, targeting the airport vicinity, SANA said, citing a military source.

The Aleppo airport had been attacked by the Israeli fighter jets several times. At least twice, it had been declared non-functional following the strikes.

The Israeli air forces have been repeatedly attacking targets in Syria since 2011. On March 12, the fighter jets hit targets in in the coastal city Tartous and the central city Hama, wounding three Syrian military personnel.
