Gaza: The Israeli occupation has refrained from releasing a number of Palestinian women and children as part of the seventh stage of a recently crafted deal, a medical official announced on Thursday. The nursing director at Gaza's "European Hospital" confirmed that medical teams were prepared to receive 24 prisoners, including children and women, but their release was disrupted.
According to Kuwait News Agency, up to 456 newly freed Palestinian prisoners arrived at the hospital at dawn. The nursing director stated that many of these individuals appeared skinny, with some unable to walk due to subjugation to beatings and torture. Several prisoners suffered from fractures in the chest, with one individual having lost a hand and another a foot. The majority of the released prisoners were reported to be suffering from skin illnesses.
The delay in releasing the seventh batch of prisoners was attributed to the occupation's protest against what Israeli officials described as "insulting ceremonies" following the recent release of Israeli prisoners.
