Gaza city: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported on Wednesday that Israeli occupation authorities have canceled the travel plans for the third batch of patients from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing.
According to Kuwait News Agency, PRCS media spokesperson Raed Al-Nims announced in a press statement that the authorities had informed them of the Israeli decision to halt the departure of the patients. During the two days when the crossing was open, 21 patients and 55 companions were able to travel.
Al-Nims emphasized that the current situation falls short of meeting the extensive needs amid the ongoing conflict, and he reaffirmed the Society's commitment to continue its efforts to evacuate wounded and critically ill patients for treatment abroad.
The announcement coincides with Israeli occupation forces launching air raids and heavy artillery shelling targeting residential areas east of Gaza City and a tent housing displaced persons in the southern Gaza Strip. These attacks have resulted in casualties, including children.
