Ismailia: Strawberries have emerged as a vital economic pillar for Egypt, driving food security and creating high-value opportunities in agricultural investment and food processing. The Ismailia Governorate leads this sector, with strawberries now ranking second in area, behind only mangoes.
According to Saudi Press Agency, with over 10,052 feddans under cultivation, Ismailia produces more than 300,000 tons annually, maintaining an impressive average yield of 25 to 35 tons per feddan. This high productivity supports a growing ecosystem of processing industries, ranging from food derivatives to export-ready agricultural products.
Beyond its industrial value, the governorate is pioneering a model that integrates agriculture with recreational tourism. By offering interactive experiences that introduce visitors to local production, Ismailia is enhancing the added value of its agricultural sector while strengthening its competitive position in both local and global markets.
