Islamic Labor Conference Highlights Need for Enhanced Labor Skills

Kuwait city: The final communique of the sixth session of the Islamic Labor Ministers Conference emphasized the importance of initiatives aimed at enhancing skills, developing human capital, strengthening the private sector, and increasing competitiveness within member states.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the statement commended a Qatari proposal to collaborate with SESRIC, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries, along with the Arab Labor Organization and the International Labor Organization, to organize training courses. The communique reaffirmed the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in fostering cooperation among member states to develop a competitive labor force capable of meeting development needs. It also called for supporting Palestine in its quest for full membership in the International Labor Organization (ILO) and praised SESRIC's regular efforts to survey the labor market.
