Iraqi Official Advocates for Dialogue Among Arab Leaders to Foster Regional Security

Brussels: Iraq's permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Qahtan Al-Janabi, emphasized the importance of dialogue and consultation among Arab leaders as a critical pathway to achieving security, stability, and development across the region. His remarks were made during a speech he delivered after taking over the chairmanship of the meeting of delegates and senior officials from Arab foreign ministries, which was aimed at preparing for the upcoming preparatory meeting of foreign ministers for the 34th Arab Summit.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Janabi underscored that Arab solidarity must transcend being merely a slogan and should manifest as a tangible reality that respects the sovereignty of states and refrains from interference in their internal affairs. He urged for the preservation of Arab unity and stressed the importance of prioritizing the interests of the nation above all other considerations.

The assembly of delegates is taking place at a critical juncture for the Arab nation, requiring unified positions, concerted efforts, and enhanced cooperation to bolster coordination and consultation mechanisms. Al-Janabi also highlighted the necessity of unwavering support and a unified stance in defending the Palestinian cause.

Additionally, the ambassador stressed that Arab solidarity is the essential means to address political, economic, and security challenges and serves as the cornerstone for achieving a stable and secure future. Meanwhile, Baghdad played host to the delegates and senior officials meeting, which featured the participation of Kuwait's Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi and Kuwait's permanent representative to the Arab League.
