The Head of the Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Haider Mansour Al-Athari, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Iraq, Maurizio Cricanti, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
During the meeting, according to the ministry’s statement, they discussed the outcomes of the visit of President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid to the Italian Republic, which is the first state visit by an Iraqi president, which reflects the depth of Iraqi-Italian relations.
They also discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Italy in all fields, especially since Iraq seeks to develop the private sector and cooperate with Italy in this field to benefit from the experience of Italian companies in all sectors, which will contribute to the development of economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The head of the Europe Department affirmed the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Europe Department, for the work of the Italian Embassy and its work to facilitate its mission, which ensures its success in developing bilateral relations.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador spoke during the meeting about the Third Baghdad Conference, which the Iraqi government is working to hold in Baghdad, and indicated Italy’s desire to provide its full support to Iraq, and touched on the Mediterranean Dialogues Conference that is held annually in Italy, wishing Iraq’s participation because of its importance in discussing all common issues concerning the countries of the Mediterranean region.
