Baghdad: Iraqi National Security Advisor, Qassim Al-Araji, signed a security agreement with Ali Larijani, head of the Iranian top security body, focusing on the security of their joint borders. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was sponsored by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani, who met with Larijani before the signing to discuss the bilateral ties between the two nations.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed a strong intent to enhance bilateral relations and partnerships in various areas. He also reiterated Iraq's opposition to Israeli occupation's attacks on Iran and emphasized Iraq's support for dialogue between Iran and the United States.
Larijani, on behalf of Iran, expressed eagerness to develop and sustain strong bilateral ties with Iraq. He also highlighted the potential establishment of a railway network aimed at facilitating transportation for travelers between the two countries. In his visit to Iraq, Larijani met with Al-Araji to discuss pressing issues such as border security, the situation in Gaza, and other regional matters.
