Iraq and France Discuss the Possibility of Contributing to Waste Treatment Projects and Converting Them into Energy

The Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, Bengen Rikani, discussed today, Wednesday, with the French Ambassador, Eric Chevalier, the possibility of contributing to waste treatment projects and converting them into energy.

A statement by his media office stated, “The meeting discussed the participation of the French side in the future projects of the ministry, in the sectors of roads, water, sewage, and the construction of new residential cities, as consultants, suppliers, or implementers of these projects, as well as the possibility of contributing to waste treatment projects and converting them into energy, to enhance the government’s efforts in improving the service and environmental reality.

“The government is looking forward to strengthening joint relations between the two friendly countries, and we aspire to transfer the great rapprochement between the governments of Iraq and France into promising projects on the ground,” Rikani said, according to the statement.

For his part, the French ambassador expressed his country’s serious desire to advance the economy and development in Iraq, and to participate in the implementation of strategic projects, in the common interest of the two friendly countries and their peoples.
