Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has assigned Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi the responsibility of leading negotiations with the United States.
According to Kuwait News Agency, President Pezeshkian announced via the social media platform X that he has directed Araghchi to lay the groundwork for fair and equitable talks. These discussions are to be conducted based on principles of dignity, wisdom, and national interest, ensuring they align with Iran's interests. The President emphasized that a conducive environment free from threats and unreasonable demands is necessary for the negotiations to proceed.
Pezeshkian mentioned that the decision to engage in dialogue was influenced by requests from friendly regional governments, encouraging Iran to consider the proposal made by US President Donald Trump. Trump has expressed Washington's desire to find a negotiated resolution concerning Iran's nuclear program, although he cautioned about potential repercussions if an agreement is not reached.
