Iranian Ambassador Praises Kuwait’s Stance on Israel’s Strikes

Kuwait City: Iran's Ambassador to Kuwait Mohammad Toutonji commended Kuwait for its stance on Israel's recent strikes inside Iran, lauding Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya for reflecting his country's condemnation of the attacks. According to Kuwait News Agency, at a press conference on Monday, Toutonji stated that Israel had conducted an illegal, direct attack that violated the UN Charter and international law, targeting residential areas, civilian and academic facilities, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)-monitored nuclear sites. The strikes resulted in the deaths of women, children, senior commanders, and leading scientists. Toutonji emphasized that bombing nuclear facilities endangers civilians and risks a radiological disaster, undermining the global non-proliferation regime. He asserted that the assault was not aimed at averting a catastrophe but at derailing diplomacy and increasing regional tension. Iran, he mentioned, would respond proportionately and lawfully under Ar ticle 51 of the UN Charter. Toutonji stressed that condemning the attack is a moral, legal, and humanitarian duty for states that claim to protect world peace. He reaffirmed Iran's commitment to regional dialogue and good-neighborly principles, especially with Gulf states, and expressed gratitude to Kuwait for rejecting the aggression and advocating for de-escalation and peaceful solutions.
