Tehran: Iran fired a salvo of missiles and drones at the Israeli occupation on Saturday as both sides engaged in ongoing hostilities, state-run TV reported. According to Kuwait News Agency, the attack marked the second significant offensive by Iran following an Israeli occupation strike on the Islamic Republic. The Iranian state-run TV announced that "tens of rockets and drones succeeded in passing the air defenses of the Israeli occupation and hit their targets." The recent escalation comes after Iran reported casualties from an Israeli occupation attack, which resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking officials. Among those killed were the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Maj-Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, Commander in Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Maj-Gen. Hossein Salami, and head of intelligence for the Iranian armed forces, Gholam-Reza Marhabi. Additionally, prominent figures such as Mohammad-Mehdi Tehranchi, a nuclear scientist and president of the Islamic Azad Un iversity, Fereydoun Abbasi, a nuclear scientist and former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and Major General Gholamali Rashid, Commander of Khatam Al-Anbia Headquarters, were also killed in separate strikes.
