Kuwait city: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized Monday that Tehran is serious about engaging in "real negotiations" with the United States to achieve concrete results.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Araghchi, speaking during a reception for foreign ambassadors, stated, "We are serious and seek genuine negotiations to reach specific outcomes, provided the other side demonstrates the same level of seriousness." He expressed hope that sufficient trust could be built to allow the talks to yield meaningful results, adding that "there is no way to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue other than through diplomatic means."
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran "welcomes any negotiations conducted within the framework of international rights, preserving national dignity and sovereignty, and based on mutual benefit and equality." Pezeshkian described the ongoing talks between Tehran and Washington in Muscat, Oman, as "a very good opportunity" to reach a solution that is "fair and acceptable to both sides," while reaffirming Iran's commitment to safeguarding its rights under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
On Friday, Araghchi held indirect talks with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Muscat.
