The Federal Integrity Commission announced the issuance of court decisions against an official in the Sunni Endowment Office, as a result of committing the crime of wasting public money with more than (1.5) billion dinars.
The Commission’s Investigations Department stated in a statement, “The Salah al-Din Criminal Court – the second commission issued several decisions in presence, totaling 17 years in prison against the assistant Director General of the Engineering Department in the Sunni Endowment Diwan, for the crime of wasting public money.”
It explained, “The accused caused waste and exaggeration in implementing iron minarets for mosques throughout Salah Al-Din Governorate, pointing out that the amount of waste amounted to a total of (1,536,500,000) dinars after determining the value of exaggeration by specialized committees.”
The Department added, “The court, after examining the evidence obtained in several cases, reached complete conviction of the defendant’s negligence, and issued several judgments convicting him, a total of (17) years in prison, in accordance with the requirements of Article (340) of the Iraqi Penal Code No. (111 of 1969) amended.”
