Indian Navy’s Aircraft Carrier and Frigate Dock in Colombo for International Fleet Review

Colombo: Indian defense authorities announced that India's first indigenous aircraft carrier and frigate are participating in the International Fleet Review 2025 in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Indian Ministry of Defense released a statement confirming the participation of the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and the frigate INS Udaygiri in the event. Both vessels are representing the Indian Navy at the International Fleet Review 2025, which is being hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy in Colombo from November 27 to 29. This event is part of the Sri Lanka Navy's 75th anniversary celebrations.

The statement from the ministry emphasized that this visit marks the maiden overseas deployment for both ships, highlighting India's commitment to enhancing regional maritime cooperation. It also reflects India's ongoing engagement with partner navies in the Indian Ocean Region, aiming to promote peace, stability, and security through collaboration and interoperability. The ships are scheduled to participate in major events of the International Fleet Review, including the ceremonial fleet review, a city parade, community outreach activities, and professional naval interactions.
