Agartala: The Indian government on Monday condemned the breach of the Bangladesh assistant high commission premises in Agartala, the capital of the northeastern Indian state of Tripura. Terming the incident as "deeply regrettable," the Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement pledging to enhance security arrangements for Bangladesh missions across the country. According to Kuwait News Agency, protesters forcefully entered the Bangladesh assistant high commission in Agartala, demanding an end to the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. This breach is part of a series of protests that have erupted in various parts of India following alleged attacks on minorities and their places of worship in Bangladesh. The situation has intensified especially after the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was overthrown, prompting her to seek refuge in India. The incident coincides with an attack on an Agartala-Kolkata bus traveling through Dhaka, which was targeted in the Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh. The I ndia-Bangladesh relationship has been strained due to the increasing mob attacks on Hindus and their religious sites in Bangladesh, leading to heightened tensions between the two neighboring countries.
