India and Bangladesh on Monday agreed to cement defense ties following the fifth Annual Defence Dialogue held in Dhaka today.
Indian Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh Waker-Uz-Zaman co-chaired the meeting.
“In the dialogue, both countries highlighted its significance in chartering the future course of the relations between the two Armed Forces,” an official statement said. Both the sides reviewed defence cooperation activities between the two countries and expressed satisfaction at the increasing defence cooperation engagements.
“The talks covered the existing bilateral exercises and both sides agreed to increase the complexity of these exercises,” the statement noted.
Both defense officials acknowledged that the dialogue was fruitful, underscoring that both countries look forward to further similar engagements.
