New delhi: India and Singapore convened the third edition of the joint Ministerial Roundtable in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss ways of cementing relationship in various fields. Both sides reviewed the progress of various cooperation initiatives under the six pillars, including advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalization, healthcare and medicine, skills development, and sustainability, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
According to Kuwait News Agency, they deliberated on ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly under these six pillars, and identified a number of specific initiatives to pursue. The ministers from Singapore called on Indian President Droupadi Murmu and visited Mumbai in connection with economic, commercial, and investment engagements, including in the maritime sector.
The Indian delegation included Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw. The Singapore delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K. Shanmugam, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo, Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng, and Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow.
