New Delhi: Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Japanese counterpart Gen Nakatani met in New Delhi to discuss ways of deepening defence ties. During their meeting, both leaders condemned terrorism in all its forms and emphasised the need for global cooperation in combating it.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Indian Defence Minister called for a unified stand against terrorism. The Japanese Defense Minister expressed full support to India and extended his condolences for the recent attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
A statement from the Ministry of Defence highlighted that the ministers reviewed the defence and security aspects of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and contributing to regional peace.
Both ministers welcomed the growing defence exercises and exchanges between the two countries and agreed to enhance the scope of these engagements. They also decided to add new dimensions to maritime cooperation between India and Japan.
