India and EU Renew Commitment to Maritime Security for Inclusive Growth

New Delhi: India and the European Union have reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring maritime security and fostering a safe maritime environment. This renewed commitment was made during the 4th India-EU Maritime Security Dialogue, which took place in New Delhi.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs released a statement outlining the discussions that took place during the dialogue. Both parties deliberated on sustaining a secure maritime environment that supports inclusive growth and global well-being. They reviewed ongoing cooperative initiatives within the maritime domain and explored ways to reinforce international and regional mechanisms for comprehensive maritime security.

The statement emphasized that India and the EU are set to strengthen their collaborative efforts against illicit maritime activities. Additionally, they focused on the protection of critical maritime infrastructure and enhancing regional capability and capacity-building activities.

The Indian delegation was led by Muanpuii Saiawi, Joint Secretary for Disarmament and International Security Affairs at the Ministry of External Affairs. The EU delegation was headed by Maciej Stadejek, Director for Security and Defence Policy at the European External Action Service.
