Kuwait City: The International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) announced a charitable initiative aimed at integrating Syrian refugee women into the Turkish labour market. The project is designed to enhance the living conditions of these women by offering specialized training programs and supporting their small business ventures.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the project provides training in three key areas: manufacturing dairy products, mobile phone maintenance, and resin manufacturing. Participants who completed the training programs successfully launched 67 development projects, significantly improving the income levels of 300 refugee families at a total cost of USD 106,028.
The organization highlighted that the project employs a comprehensive training approach, offering intensive sessions over several months. Participants acquired both technical and administrative skills, contributing to their economic sustainability. Tests indicated a significant improvement in their knowledge and skill levels.
IICO emphasized that the initiative aligns with its broader strategy to achieve economic empowerment for vulnerable groups, focusing on enhancing self-reliance. The organization underlined that empowering refugee women is crucial for sustainable development in host communities.
