IICO Implements Projects Worth USD 440,000 in Jerusalem and Yemen

Kuwait City: The International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) announced Monday the implementation of two significant projects-renovating homes for 15 Palestinian families in Jerusalem and providing potable water to 30,000 beneficiaries in Yemen-at a total cost of USD 440,000 (approximately KD 135,000). These initiatives are part of IICO’s ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life, stability, and human dignity.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the organization funded the “Shelter” project in Jerusalem, aimed at renovating and improving living conditions for 15 impoverished Palestinian families. This project, costing around USD 320,000 (approximately KD 98,000), underscores IICO’s commitment to fostering social stability and ensuring a dignified life for beneficiaries. The project has notably created a safe and healthy housing environment, especially benefiting children, the elderly, and vulnerable groups.

In Shaqra city, Abyan Governorate, Yemen, IICO executed a project to supply drinking water by drilling two 30-meter deep artesian wells equipped with solar-powered submersible pumps. This initiative also included the establishment of a modern 2,000-meter water network and elevated storage tanks, with the total cost exceeding USD 120,000 (around KD 37,000).

The organization highlighted that the water supply project has significantly alleviated the suffering of 30,000 beneficiaries who previously faced water scarcity and limited access. It has also contributed to reducing waterborne diseases and eased the daily burden on women and children who had to travel long distances to fetch water.

IICO reaffirmed its commitment to launching integrated development projects aimed at improving quality of life and enhancing resilience against economic and social challenges. This aligns with its vision of empowering individuals through sustainable programs that promote stability and dignified living in needy communities.
