Dhofar: The "Ibri II" Solar Power Plant, recognized as Oman's largest renewable energy initiative, commenced operations in 2021, boasting a production capacity of 560 megawatts.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this significant project is situated in the Dhofar Governorate and spans an impressive 13.8 square kilometers. The facility is equipped with approximately 1.5 million solar panels, effectively supplying energy to over 40,000 housing units each year.
The development of the "Ibri II" Solar Power Plant aligns with the Sultanate Vision 2040, a strategic framework aimed at diversifying Oman's energy sources and promoting the adoption of solar power.
