Kuwait city: Kuwait Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi affirmed on Thursday the ministry's keenness on developing the health system and enhancing the quality of services, building and building qualified national cadres. His remarks came during the opening of the three-day Kuwait Conference on Dermatology, Laser and Aesthetic Medicine, held with the participation of physicians and consultants from GCC countries, Arab states, Europe, the United States, India, and East Asia.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Awadhi stated that the conference aligns with the Ministry's vision to support scientific and professional advancement. He highlighted the achievements of the Kuwait Dermatologists Association, which include organizing over 30 specialized workshops and training programs in recent years, benefiting more than 200 doctors.
The Minister also noted the preparation of Kuwait's first national therapeutic consensus for psoriasis in accordance with the latest international guidelines. This initiative serves over 10,000 patients annually, complemented by advanced educational courses. Additionally, Al-Awadhi mentioned that dermatology departments at Ministry facilities provide services to more than 500,000 patients annually. Recent upgrades in these departments include advanced laser and phototherapy technologies, the introduction of internationally approved innovative medications, infrastructure development, and reduced waiting times.
Furthermore, Dr. Abeer Al-Bathali, Chairperson of the Conference Organizing Committee, stated that the event reflects the association's commitment to keeping pace with scientific advances and promoting evidence-based medical practice to enhance patient care.
