Health Information Center and WHO Host Workshop on Health Classification System

Kuwait city: The Ministry of Health, represented by the National Health Information Center, in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), has organized a training workshop for health professionals from Kuwait, the GCC countries, and the Eastern Mediterranean region. The workshop, which allows for both in-person and online participation, is being held at the Symphony Hotel and will continue until November 19.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Director of the Center Dr. Fatemah Al-Asoumi stated that the workshop is part of the Center's strategic goal to establish a reliable electronic health information system. This system is designed to support evidence-based decision-making and enable effective actions based on accurate and high-quality data.

Dr. Al-Asoumi highlighted that the workshop is attended by physicians, WHO specialists, and technical teams from the Ministry. Discussions are centered on the importance of standardizing the classification and documentation of all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

She further praised the Ministry's continuous efforts to advance the health system. Participants from WHO recognized Kuwait's dedication to adopting the International Classification of Health Interventions, which they affirmed enhances data transparency, facilitates international cooperation in health studies, and improves health planning.
