Hajj Season to Return to Summer in 25 Years, Say Meteorologists

Riyadh: Spokesperson for the Saudi National Center for Meteorology (NCM) Hussein Al-Qahtani announced that the Hajj season for the year 1446 AH will mark the end of its current association with summer. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Qahtani explained that the next eight Hajj seasons will take place during spring, followed by eight seasons in winter, and then eight in autumn. This gradual transition will see temperatures rise slowly before returning to summer in approximately 25 years. The cyclical nature of the lunar calendar is the primary reason for this shift, providing pilgrims the chance to perform Hajj rituals in more moderate weather conditions in the interim years.
