Gulf Shield ’26 Exercise Highlights Integration Among GCC Armies

Riyadh: The Air and Air Defense Forces of Kuwait Army on Friday concluded their participation in the Gulf Shield 2026, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since Sunday, January 4. The exercise gathered armed forces from Gulf Cooperation Council member countries and the Joint GCC Military Command, aiming to enhance the GCC armies' combat preparedness, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army stated.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Gulf Shield 2026 is a key element of military cooperation among the GCC states. It features advanced operational scenarios to address multi-faceted security threats, including missile threats. The drills involved aerial maneuvers and parades focusing on the improvement of command and control systems and the effectiveness of joint field actions.

The conclusion of the exercise saw the Kuwait Air Force participating in a joint aerial parade, showcasing the operational harmony and integration among the joint forces. This demonstrated their ability to plan and execute specific missions under the latest professional standards, the statement added.
