Gulf Conference on Cybersecurity Challenges Commences in Kuwait


Kuwait city: The sixth Gulf Conference on Cybersecurity Challenges, under the theme “Secure Digital Environment,” has commenced in Kuwait. The event is being held under the patronage of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah.



According to Kuwait News Agency, Brigadier Anwar Al-Yatama, Head of the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector at the Ministry of Interior, highlighted that the conference is taking place amidst rising challenges in the field of cybersecurity. He noted that cybersecurity has become a crucial element of national security and sustainable development.



Eng. Abeer Al-Awadhi, Head of the National Cybersecurity Center, remarked that the conference underscores the Gulf Cooperation Council’s commitment to collectively addressing cyber threats. She emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to maintaining digital security and stability within its electronic domain. Al-Awadhi also mentioned that the involvement of experts and specialists in the conference provides a valuable platform for exchanging best practices and exploring the latest solutions and technologies in cybersecurity.



Al-Awadhi further stressed the need for states and institutions to be well-prepared to tackle the complex and rapidly evolving cyber challenges faced globally. She advocated for enhanced cooperation among GCC states and the integration of efforts to develop comprehensive national strategies that align with technological advancements, ensuring efficient and effective management of escalating cyber risks.
