Gulf Bank Marathon Draws Thousands of Racers Amid Carnival Atmosphere.


Kuwait City: The 10th edition of the annual Gulf Bank 642 Marathon kicked off along the Gulf coast in Kuwait City, attracting thousands of male and female racers. The event unfolded in a vibrant carnival atmosphere, drawing participants and spectators alike to the city’s coastline.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the marathon featured four distinct categories to cater to various age groups and fitness levels. Participants chose from a 5 KM race with a minimum age requirement of 10 years, a 10 KM race for those aged 14 and above, a 21 KM half marathon for racers at least 16 years old, and the signature 42 KM marathon, open to individuals 18 and older.

Far from being merely a one-day race, the Gulf Bank 642 Marathon serves as a call for lifestyle change. It encourages participants and the wider community to embrace regular physical activity and walking as preventive measures against diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and heart problems.
