Germany Welcomes US Peace Plan for Gaza

Berlin: Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul welcomed on Thursday the first phase of the US peace plan to implement a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Merz stated that his country was optimistic about the initial step and hopeful for its success.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Wadephul expressed similar sentiments in an X statement, indicating that the agreement would lead to a ceasefire in the Palestinian enclave. Germany conveyed its willingness to support the US peace plan announced by President Donald Trump through indirect negotiations between the Israeli occupation and Hamas in Egypt.
