Germany Digs Heels on Rejecting Recognition of Palestinian State

Kuwait city: Germany on Monday reiterated its refusal to recognize a Palestinian state, diverging from European allies including France and the UK.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Deputy Government Spokesman Sebastian Hille stated that Berlin's assessment differs, noting a contrast with allies, especially France, which plans to recognize a Palestinian state tomorrow, and the UK, which recognized it yesterday.

Germany's position remains known and unchanged, viewing recognition as one of the concluding steps toward a two-state solution, Hille mentioned.

Germany regularly supports a two-state solution and maintains that recognition should come after Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.
