Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi welcomed Belgium's announcement, intending to recognize a Palestinian state.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Budaiwi stated that the announcement reflects growing regional and international backing for the two-state solution, which embodies principles relevant to international charters supporting the Palestinian cause.
He urged all other world countries to follow suit in a bid to achieve a just and inclusive peace in the Middle East region, based on the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative, and international legitimacy resolutions.
