GCC-US talks get underway in Saudi Arabia

Foreign ministers of Gulf Arab states and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken assembled for a round of talks in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh on Wednesday, aiming to propel bilateral ties to greater levels.

Relations between the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Washington are “exemplary” but still have more room for progress, Oman’s Foreign Minister Bader Albusaid, who is presiding over the talks, told the gathering.

The foreign ministers of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman are meeting with Washington’s top diplomat in Riyadh.
