GCC Strongly Condemns Netanyahu’s Statement About “Greater Israel”

Kuwait city: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Al-Budawai strongly condemned on Wednesday the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statement about his vision to create a Greater Israel that includes parts of several Arab countries. In a press statement, Al-Budawai deplored Netanyahu's statement as a blatant violation of the UN Charter, the International Law and an encroachment on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these Arab states.

According to Kuwait News Agency, these dangerous statements and plans directly threaten the security and the stability of the region and the whole world, and show the dangerous expansionist approach of the Israeli occupation, he warned. Al-Budawai affirmed the GCC categorical rejection of any attempt to tamper with the sovereignty of Arab states and Arab lands. The GCC chief urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility and take decisive action against these provocative statements and plots, and to protect the region from any act that risks instigating tension and undermining chances of just and comprehensive peace.

On Tuesday, Netanyahu stated he is on a "historic and spiritual mission" and feels "very" attached to the vision of so-called 'Greater Israel', which includes territories earmarked for the Palestinian state and potentially parts of present-day Jordan and Egypt.
