Riyadh, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Ahmed Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority in Saudi Arabia.
The secretary general affirmed that Saudi Arabia enjoys a global stature in digital government transformation in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, pointing out that the Kingdom is making distinctive and purposeful efforts in this field.
The meeting reviewed the Digital Government Award for GCC countries which will be presented during the 5th Digital Government Forum hosted by Saudi Arabia next December.
Albudaiwi was invited to attend the forum and participate in honouring the award winners.
Aspects of cooperation between the GCC General Secretariat and the Digital Government Authority in the field of digitalisation were also explored. This included strategic plans and initiatives aimed at boosting digital prosperity and addressing challenges to achieving growth and progress.
The secretary general praised the prominent role played by the Digital Government Authority in disseminating digital knowledge and experience exchange.
He also applauded the presentation provided which affirmed the aspirations and ambitions of Saudi Arabia for the future by stressing the importance of digital government transformation across all its ministries and institutions, and its energetic pursuit of achieving the desired goals in this field.
