Riyadh: GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi reaffirmed support for UN efforts for a political solution in Yemen, aligning with the Gulf Initiative, its implementation mechanism, the National Dialogue Conference, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the GCC General Secretariat released a statement following Al-Budaiwi's meeting with UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg in Riyadh. The discussions centered on the latest developments in Yemen and issues of mutual interest.
Al-Budaiwi also emphasized the Council's full support for Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council and its supporting entities, as outlined during the Supreme Council's 45th session in Kuwait. He highlighted their crucial role in achieving security, stability, and in safeguarding Yemen's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
