Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi emphasized that GCC member states are highly committed to the development of tourism and related sectors. Al-Budaiwi shared these remarks after attending the official opening of the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly held in Riyadh. He highlighted the essential role that tourism plays in driving economic growth and diversifying income sources within the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Budaiwi stressed the GCC's dedication to advancing infrastructure and enhancing the quality of services in the tourism sector. This commitment aims to keep pace with the rapid changes occurring in this sector and to position the Gulf as a significant global destination. Additionally, Al-Budaiwi praised Saudi Arabia for hosting the event, noting that it demonstrates the kingdom's efforts to foster international cooperation and to establish a thriving and sustainable tourism framework.
