GCC Chief Welcomes Formation of New Lebanese Government

Kuwait City: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi has welcomed the formation of the new Lebanese government, hoping that the creation of the government will contribute to supporting the path of stability and development in Lebanon. In a press statement issued Saturday, Al-Budaiwi wished the new government success in its mission to meet the aspirations of the brotherly Lebanese people for a more prosperous and secure future, in a way that enhances Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and independence, as well as restores its historical role in the Arab world.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Budaiwi praised this important step, which reflects the will of the Lebanese leadership and political forces to overcome challenges and enhance stability and security in Lebanon, as well as the importance of strengthening the national and international efforts to support Lebanon in this sensitive stage in order to restore its economy, development, and security.

He reiterated the GCC's firm and supportive stance towards Lebanon and its brotherly people, and the readiness of the Council's states to continue to stand by Lebanon in everything that would achieve security, stability, and prosperity for the country, wishing the new Lebanese government would bolster its established relations with the GCC member states.
