GCC Chief commends Qatar, Egypt’s roles in Mideast ceasefire

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi commended on Sunday the Qatari and Egyptian crucial roles in the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation.

Al-Budaiwi, in a statement, lauded the Qatari diplomacy within the region and the world, saying that the Gulf country always sought means to end conflicts peacefully.

He also praised Egypt for de-escalating and calming the situation in the region.

He reiterated the GCC countries stance on the Middle East issue, which called for finding a justice and comprehensive solution to the conflict through international laws and the Arab peace initiative, leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders centered around the capital east Jerusalem.
