GCC Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives to IAEA hold their regular meeting

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ambassadors’ Council and Permanent Representatives to Vienna held their regular meeting at the United Nations building in Vienna, under the chairmanship of Ambassador Dr. Yousef Abdulkarim Bucheeri, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office in Vienna.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 65th Annual Regular Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), held from 20-24 September 2021, with the participation of the Permanent GCC Mission to Vienna.

The Council of Ambassadors congratulated the brotherly State of Kuwait for assuming the presidency of IAEA’s current session of the General Conference by its Permanent Representative, HE Ambassador Sadiq Marafi.

The council also congratulated the head of the GCC Mission in Vienna, Ambassador Dr. Ali Al-Jowder for assuming the duties of UN and other international organisations.

Ambassador Bucheeri wished the ambassadors of the brotherly states’ missions continued success in the conference and their duties.

The ambassadors discussed the topics on the agenda of the conference and coordination of the GCC position regarding them, in addition to ways of reinforcing Gulf action as well as the most important issues and priority matters relating to the GCC role on the multilateral arena in Vienna.
