Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron received Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa at the Elysee Palace on Wednesday, marking Al-Sharaa's first visit to France since assuming office. This meeting underscores a significant diplomatic engagement between the two nations. According to Kuwait News Agency, the French presidency emphasized that the meeting aligns with France's longstanding commitment to supporting Syrians in their pursuit of peace and democracy. The discussions are seen as a crucial step in fostering diplomatic relations and encouraging Syria's reintegration into the regional framework. French President Emmanuel Macron's advisor for North Africa and the Middle East, Anne-Claire Legendre, highlighted the importance of Syria's reintegration into its regional environment. Legendre pointed out the need for Syria to contribute to the stability of a region currently facing considerable turmoil due to recent conflicts.
