Foiling the suicide attempt of a fifty-year-old woman in Mosul

The River Rescue Police in Nineveh thwarted a suicide attempt by a woman who tried to throw herself from the old bridge in the center of the city of Mosul.

A source in the River Rescue Police told the Iraqi National News Agency / NINA / that “the River Rescue Police teams thwarted a suicide attempt by a woman who wanted to throw herself from the old bridge after a number of passing citizens prevented her from committing suicide, but she insisted on committing suicide, until the river rescue intervened,” indicating that “the reason for the woman’s arrival to suicide was the result of psychological pressure from her family and husband.”
