Fifth Scientific Research Conference Opens at Sabah Al-Salem University City

Sabah al-salem: The Fifth Scientific Research Conference commenced today at Sabah Al-Salem University City with the theme "Promoting Academic Excellence through Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation." In his opening address, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Nader Al-Jalal emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research for academic excellence, aligning with national priorities, supporting Kuwait's future vision, and fostering knowledge that drives sustainable development across various sectors.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Jalal highlighted innovation as a crucial element in higher education, bridging the gap between scientific research and practical application. He praised Kuwait University's role in nurturing a research culture, preparing national talent, and advancing the country's development goals. Kuwait University President Dr. Dina Al-Mailem reiterated that scientific research is central to the university's mission, driving knowledge production and providing tools to address societal challenges.

Dr. Al-Mailem also noted that the conference theme this year focuses on bridging disciplines to achieve academic excellence, accelerating interdisciplinary research to foster innovation and creativity. She expressed gratitude towards community development partners, especially the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, for their support which enriched the event and showcased successful collaborative community partnership.

Vice President for Research at Kuwait University Dr. Abdullah Sultan stated that the annual event demonstrates the university's commitment to knowledge support, advancing scientific production, and enhancing its global presence. He added that this year's theme underscores the priority of integrating knowledge across disciplines to deliver innovative solutions, directly advancing sustainable development while addressing complex scientific and societal challenges.

Dr. Sultan highlighted that the Research Sector continues to develop infrastructure, support researchers, improve the quality of scientific publications, and strengthen international partnerships. This aims to empower national competencies, enhance the university's research output, serve society, and support sustainable development in Kuwait. The two-day event gathers academic and research experts from various scientific fields and honors winners of the Distinguished Scientific Poster Award, emphasizing the poster's role in systematically presenting research and reflecting Kuwait University's advanced scholarship.
