Brussels: European Council President Antonio Costa affirmed on Thursday that he was closely monitoring developments in Syria, calling for the protection of all members of religious and ethnic minorities without discrimination.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Costa shared his concerns in a post on the platform X, where he stated, "Closely following the latest developments in Syria," while emphasizing, "I call on the Syrian Authorities to protect all members of religious and ethnic minorities without distinction."
Costa also expressed his support for the current ceasefire brokered by the United States and several regional partners. He urged all involved parties to honor their commitments to the truce, highlighting the importance of contributing to stability and peace in Syria.
