EU Urges Protection of Civilians Amid Escalating Crisis in El Fasher

El fasher: The European Commissioner for Equality and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, has expressed concern over the humanitarian situation in El Fasher, North Darfur, Sudan. Lahbib highlighted that the city is facing "a humanitarian catastrophe reaching its peak" due to ongoing violence. According to Kuwait News Agency, Lahbib's statement on X emphasized that civilians are being killed, and families are being forced to flee due to violence perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The EU official called on all parties involved in the Sudan conflict to adhere strictly to international humanitarian law. Lahbib stressed the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring their safe passage, underlining the need for stranded families to access humanitarian aid and find safe routes out of conflict zones.
